From 1910 through 1963, this campus was the site of the University of Minnesota West Central School of Agriculture (WCSA) and Experiment Station. The WCSA was a boarding high school that, in addition to traditional high school instruction, offered courses related to agriculture and home economics. Classes were held from October through March so that students could return home for spring planting and fall harvesting. This garden, established by the WCSA alumni, is a lasting legacy honoring the students who attended and the faculty and staff who taught and worked at the WCSA. May it also serve as a perpetual reminder of the history of this campus.
